New Golf GTD gets under starter's orders

The first Golf GTD appeared back in 1982 - now Volkswagen has perfected the diesel version of the cult classic GTI. The improvements in quality offered by the new Golf GTI are carried over to the diesel version, but there's plenty of difference between the two. From its 2.0-litre TDI engine to its unique tartan interior, the GTD offers hot-hatch excellence combined with money-saving fuel economy and low CO2 emissions.
